Helping Others Live & Travel.
Boutique hotels and vacation rentals across the US, Mexico and Europe. We design, renovate and run every property ourselves, for owners who want above-market yield.
It started as a few furnished apartments in New York.
In December 2013 I began renting corporate apartments to people visiting the city, with a small crew of cleaners, handymen and customer service agents behind them.
In 2018 Ioana closed Rose & Basil to run operations, and the business became HOLT. Our first moves outside New York were Bucharest and Aspen. Mexico came next, then Spain.
We own some properties, lease some long-term and manage the rest for owners. Building them ourselves is why we're good at running them.
In Bucharest that meant starting from bare concrete.
A 120-year-old hacienda three blocks from the Zócalo. The family had turned down retail conversions for years. We built them a hotel named for their matriarch, and it runs near 90% occupancy year-round.
A historic monument building in the center of Bucharest, rebuilt behind its original facade. Studios upstairs unlock into two- and three-bedroom suites. Our first contactless hotel, opened in 2020.
An owner we worked with in Mexico asked us to take on a place in Spain, a market we'd never touched. Our remote renovation team found local trades, designed it and finished before Christmas.
We built HOLT's team from zero. It now works out of eight countries, from Peru to Georgia to Thailand, and everyone on it speaks at least two languages.
We have never missed an owner payment. Not even during COVID.
